As an OSU student you can purchase a Mathematica license. The license
allows you to run Mathematica on your own computer for one year.
The license begins this year when OSU's Autumn quarter begins and ends next year
when OSU's Autumn quarter begins. So, we are offset just a bit in CROSU.
OSU has lots of agreements with software producers to sell their software
to OSU students at a reduced price.
There are software bundles
and individual site
licenses available.
You would be purchasing a site license for Mathematica.
Click on the Mathematica link. This will take you down the page to the
description.
Click on the Download Mathematica link.
Read the instructions.
Access the software server using your OSU username.
Two activities:
Download Mathematica: You will download an installer.
It is HUGE! It may take a while to download.
Purchase the license. You will be taken to another website.
You'll need to enter in your OSU email address and the OSU's account password,
which is Buckeye or Buckeyes. From there you want to follow the instructions and purchase the license key.
However, the license key will not activate Mathematica on your computer.
There are a couple more steps.
The license key may be provided on the web page or it may come to you in an email.
Install Mathematica and launch the program.
You will get a dialog box asking you for your license key. Put it in and click ok.
Now a special key just for your computer will be created. You be taken to a special webpage
where you will enter in some information.
Once you have done that, you wait. Your personal password will arrive in email.
Relaunch Mathematica, put in your personal password.
