Prerequisites for Calculus&Mathematica Students
Our C&M courses are designed for high school students, college students, and other people interested in learning Calculus. Many C&M students are majoring in engineering, physics, chemistry, and mathematics, but the course is accessible to anyone with the following background.
For students to succeed in a C&M class, we strongly recommend they successfully complete the following math classes:
- Algebra I and II
- Geometry
- Functions and Trigonometry (FST at some schools)
- Pre-Calculus
Students at Ohio State or transferring to Ohio State who want to enroll in C&M classes must meet one of the following requirements:
- Satisfactory score on Ohio State Math Placement Test
- Completed Math 150 or equivalent
High school students enrolling in remote C&M courses must meet both of the following critera:
Students are not required to have computer or internet experience but it is helpful to have some experience with basic computer skills.
