Courses Offered

Calculus&Mathematica at The Ohio State University offers several courses through the Department of Mathematics.  These courses can be taken by Ohio State students at the Columbus campus in our Calculus&Mathematica lab and remotely by qualified in-state high school students and Ohio State students attending the remote campuses or Co-oping.

Course 1: Math 151C, Calculus and Analytic Geometry I.

• 5 credit hour class for undergraduates. Prerequisite: Math 150 or placement through Math Placement Test or OSU Academy program.
• Study of growth in linear, power, and exponential functions; limits; and differential calculus.

Course 2: Math 152C, Calculus and Analytic Geometry II.

• 5 credit hour class for undergraduates. Prerequisite: Math 151 or placement through Math Placement Test or OSU Academy program.
• Measurement of Area under curves, The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Measurements of Arc length, area, volume, density, and mass.  Integral Transformations, 2D Integrals and the Gauss-Green Formula.

Course 3: Math 153C, Calculus and Analytic Geometry III.

• 5 credit hour class for undergraduates. Prerequisite: Math 152 or placement through Math Placement Test or OSU Academy program.
• Splines, Expansions in Powers of x, Applications of Expansions, Taylor's Formula, Barriers, Convergence, Power Series.

Course 4: Math 254C, Calculus and Analytic Geometry IV.

• 5 credit hour class for undergraduates. Prerequisite: Math 153 or placement through Math Placement Test or OSU Academy program.
• Vectors, Perpendicularity, The Gradient, 2D Vector Fields, Flow Measurements, Divergence and Rotation, Transforming 2D Integrals.

Course 5: Math 255C (415C), Differential Equations and Applications.

• 5 credit hour class (4 credit hours for 415C) for undergraduates. Prerequisite: Math 254 or equivalent Vector Calculus course.
